I like the last one for the angles that seem almost impossible and the path that adds interest.

I visited Mexico on two separate occasions in the mid 80's. I remember feeling such anger seeing the ornate churches and then the shanty towns that so many lived in.

I'm appreciating seeing this through your eyes.

It's the same everywhere, with every religion I've encountered. The churches, temples, synagogues, or whatever demand payment from the people, regardless of station, and thus end up with the best land, the best architects, the best artists, and a good chunk of the treasure and power available. The thing is, the people give it willingly, and for the most part don't seem to begrudge it. I suppose they are buying hope for a better life in the hereafter.
