Towards the end, this little guy appeared and set his basket down. Some of the monks ignored him, but others tossed handfuls of sticky rice into his basket. Afterwards, he struggled to carry it off. I gave him a hand with it down to a boat on the river, where he sat himself down, evidently to wait for someone. My guess is that he was collecting rice for the temple across the river, but I'm not sure.
I wandered off through town after a good cup off coffee, finding this lovely lily pond down an alley.
Then up Phu Si hill to the Stupa and multiple Buddhas on top with beautiful views of the surrounding area. The first image is of a small shrine in a cave half way up.
On the way down, I passed two musicians. The first was playing a sort of hand held, lung powered pipe organ. It looks like dual pan pipes with a cylindrical mouthpiece in the center. Then this guy playing a single stringed instrument.
One more day here, and then I have booked a boat North.
