Perched above a Bedouin camp in the foothills of Mt. Nebo (where Moses talked to a burning shrub), this effigy is placed prominently to help the goats find their way home at the end of the day.
Mt Nebo itself was underwhelming. Potentially inspirational views were obstructed by haze, and most of the summit is a construction site. They are building some sort of temple to Moses.
Madaba was quite interesting, an old Christian center, with many churches and ruins, featuring some of the most famous mosaics in the Middle East, I could have spent a day there.
The Dead Sea was worth it if only to float standing up with my nipples just below the water in the 31% saline solution that passes for water. Got a few pics of interesting crustiness at the shore.
I am very glad I came to Jordan. It has been a fascinating experience, one I hope to repeat.
