The storm the authorities came to blame...

The beaches we went to were lovely, so long as you didn't approach the high tide line. At that point they were trashed. We were told that it was all the fault of Hurricane Sandy, which, as most Americans don't know, slammed through Cuba before heading north to NYC. Considering the number of people out of work in Cuba, however, I find it hard to believe that the Cuban government couldn't find a few hundred people to groom beaches at the going rate of $20 a month...
