Mexico City, first look.

First impression flying in last night: this place is huge. From the air, the lights spanned horizon to horizon. It's crazy busy here in the Centro Historico, with crowds of people, cars, vendors, and tourists, but feels safe, either because of or despite the huge numbers of heavily armed police of various sorts. I was shooed away from the military clothing shops after my fourth picture. The shopkeeper who officiously told me to scat turned tail and ran away when I stepped towards him to ask why. Lots to do and see around here. I may not post for a while, but lots when I get back, I promise.
