Images collected today

Went for a hike with my friend Bob today at Patagonia Lake (a bit north and west of where Greta took her border pics, for Facebook readers). Nothing really postworthy from the lake, but on the way back we found this beautiful shrine built in a small cave by the Telles family in 1941 in gratitude for the safety of their sons in the war. It was rededicated in 1988 and is obviously well cared for.

then, a few miles north of Sonoita, we visited the Empire Ranch, a National Historic Site built in the 1800's, not long after Arizona became part of the United States in the Gadsden Purchase. Lots of preservation work in progress at this site, which consists of several adobe outbuildings and the ranch house.
