can't wait to see where this goes.
I like your new icon.
Mmmn. Very strong imagery is brought to mind. And at the same time so tangible and fragile.
Not offensive to me...
Painting it is really important.
I lived in New York City, and I know you did too.
I was taken to lunch once at the top, to the Wall Street Club.
Even now, I can't quite wrap my mind around the fact that it's gone.
Is it my imagination, or has your art changed in a dramatic way since you made that piece for Pageater? Now you seem to be using very vivid abstract patterns as the base and then farbelizing on top of those patterns. You weren't doing that before, were you? Or did I just not see the early stages of those works before? I think this new stuff is really cool. I wonder, too, if you could somehow make prints of early stages of your work. Sometimes the intermediate stages are extremely appealing; works of art in and of themselves.

i think my work has evolved dramatically in the last couple of years, and rune definitely had a big part in it. i don't think i would attempt this painting, as much as i need the catharsis, if she had not shown me that i could. as for patterning on top of vivid abstracts, that has been a frequent theme in my work almost from the beginning. the changes that have occurred are more in the way i approach the pattern as opposed to the underpainting, and, thanks to rune, an occasional specifically inspired abstract amid all my improvisations. you are welcome to print out any of the images i post, if you like.
No need for apologies...I'm looking forward to seeing what this one ends up as. Very interesting start. :)
And, I love your new icon. So cool!
Nice job man. Of course if you hadn't said anything. Folks might just as well have assumed it was french fries or carrot sticks. It is striking though.
